March 2017 – Trip to London

We met early Monday morning at the airport to fly to London with our English club.

After the arrival at the hostel and a little rest we went into the city via London tube.

On our way to the Tower of London we crossed London bridge to see the Tower bridge.

We had an educational workshop in little groups at the Tower of London. So we discovered the different buildings of the tower to see the crown jewellery of Queen Elisabeth II. After our tour we walked by the river Thames towards the tube station. We had dinner near our hostel.

On Tuesday we discovered London via a walking tour to see the sights of London like Buckingham Palace, the Parliament and Hyde Park. At night we had a late boat tour to see London by night.

At Wednesday morning we went to see the London museum to get some information about Jack the Ripper for the upcoming “Jack the Ripper tour” at night. Before we started our night tour we went to see the “sky garden”. That is a skyscraper in the middle of London with a 360° view of London. During the walking tour we learned about the serial killing of five women in the 19th century.

On our last day we had the option to plan our free time, so we decided to go shopping on the famous Oxford Street. At night we ordered pizza together and enjoyed the last evening with playing billiard in the hostel.

With a funny and also scary taxi tour to the tube station ended our trip in London. We flew home on Friday morning.

As you can read at the top, we had a fun time in London. It was great to get the chance to travel with a small group of nine people and to discover the big city. We also got the chance to improve our school English – it worked really well for all of us.
